Acknowledgement of Country

The St Pius X Parish School Community acknowledges the Gunditjmara / Marr Nation people who have educated children on these lands for thousands of years.
A Prayer for Easter

Jesus, you are alive and with us.
Help us to see your light in every day.
Teach us to be kind, loving, and brave.
May we carry Easter in our hearts always.
Amen
A Note from our Principal

Ngata families,
Celebrating the Launch of SWPBS at Our School
This week, we are excited to officially launch School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) across our school community. SWPBS is a proactive, research-based framework designed to promote and maintain positive student behaviour. It focuses on teaching and reinforcing clear expectations, building a consistent approach to behaviour and celebrating students who demonstrate positive choices.
At the heart of our SWPBS approach are our core values: Respect, Safety and Responsibility. These values guide our expectations in all areas of school life—from the classroom to the playground—and help create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment for every child.
Importantly, our school’s values are deeply aligned with Catholic Social Teachings. Respect reflects the dignity of every person; Safety connects to our call to uphold the common good and care for others; and Responsibility mirrors our commitment to stewardship, justice and active participation in our community.
We have developed a Behaviour Matrix that clearly outlines what Respect, Safety and Responsibility look like in different settings around the school. This matrix is displayed in every classroom and shared with students regularly. We encourage you to take a look at it to understand the consistent language and expectations being used at school.
Thank you for your ongoing support as we work together to build a school culture where every student can flourish in faith, learning and wellbeing.
Kind regards,
Nick Murrell
Principal

Holiday Fun!
After a HUGE Term 1 at school, we all enjoyed a well deserved break over the holidays. Some of us stayed home, while others spent time with their family and friends. We had so much fun, but the highlight for most of us was a visit from the Easter Bunny!
Here is what a few of our Foundation students go up to over the holidays:
Eadie - I went to visit my grandparents and we had lunch together.
George W - We went camping in South Australia. We stayed in Robe, Adelaide and Victor Harbour.
Arlo - In the holidays I went to Geelong with my cousins. We had fun playing together.
Hailey - I went camping in Rocklands. I liked roasting marshmallows. The pink ones are the yummiest.

Cross Country
On Wednesday we participated in our first ever cross country. The task was a bit daunting at first, but after walking the track Tuesday afternoon with Mrs McDonald and Mrs Walsh, we felt prepared and ready to go. It was a LONG way for our little legs to run and we were very tired afterwards, but it was so much fun! Thank you to our buddies who ran along with us, encouraging us not to give up.

Welcome Irine
This term, we have welcomed a new student into our Foundation classroom - Welcome Irine!
Irine has been a great addition to our class and has shown great confidence and independence already. Here’s a few things that we have learnt about her so far:
- She is 6 years old.
- She has two younger brothers.
- Her favourite food is sushi.
- When she’s at home, she likes doing paintings with her family.
