Acknowledgement of Country

The St Pius X Parish School Community acknowledges the Gunditjmara / Marr Nation people who have educated children on these lands for thousands of years.
A Prayer for Father's Day

Loving God, we thank You for all fathers and father-figures in our lives.
Bless all those who nurture with patience, care, and love.
Be close to those who miss their fathers, and to fathers who are apart from their children.
Comfort those for whom Father’s Day brings sadness.
May we all know You as our ever-present and faithful Father.
Amen
A Note from our Principal
Ngata families,
Tomorrow we look forward to gathering together for our Father’s Day / Special Person’s Breakfast, beginning from 7.45am. It’s always a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and give thanks for the fathers, grandfathers and special people in our students’ lives who support them with such love and care. I know our children are very excited to share this special time with you. Thanks to our P&F and admin team for all their organisation.
Also tomorrow, we will be presenting our Community Pod Awards at assembly, beginning at 3:00pm. One highlight will be the Compassion Award, which recognizes students who show exceptional empathy, kindness and understanding toward others. This award acknowledges children who consistently offer support and encouragement to their peers, helping to create a warm and welcoming environment for all. Their actions reflect the Gospel values we seek to live out each day, inspiring others to act with kindness in their own lives.
We look forward to seeing many of you tomorrow, both at breakfast and again at assembly.
Kind regards,
Nick Murrell
Principal

Busking For Change
On Wednesday our wonderful school celebrated Busking For Change. We came dressed in red, black and yellow and raised an impressive $265 for the ILF. This money will be used to create books in language for different communities all around Australia. In the afternoon we were blessed with a little bit of respite in the weather and so we gathered outside in front of the Art room to sing our song. Lincoln, Renata and Maniah gave us a Welcome to Country, we had a little warm up sing of 'Country Tells Us When' and then Mel entertained us by teaching us 'Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes' in the language of the local Gunditjmara people. We finished off with the preps and one twos coming out the front to sing the song one last time. Many thanks to Mel and to all the parents who came along to share in this special event and to all the students for their beautiful voices.

COUNTING BACKWARDS
We have been learning how to practice our backwards counting. It is tricky going back through the decades and trying to remember what number comes before. Jack taught us a great song going forwards and backwards from 50 whilst we could get up and get fit and move.
Then check out these amazing efforts!! We had to write the backwards number sequence on our whiteboards.

KINDNESS IS EVERYWHERE
Be Kind was a letter St Paul wrote to the Ephesians and it is a story that we read from the Bible. We talked all about how it is our job to say and do kind things to make people smile - in our classroom, in our playground, in our homes or wherever we are with friends or strangers.
If there is a time when we say or do hurtful things then we have to be brave enough to apologise and say ‘SORRY’.
Each of us were able to draw a picture of a time when we had to say sorry to a friend or someone we love.

FATHERS DAY
This week we have been extremely busy creating and making some wonderful gifts for all of our special Dads, Grandpas and male figures in our lives.
We hope that they all have a wonderful weekend celebrating Father’s Day and that they enjoy opening our gift bags to reveal our amazing handmade creations. We have had a great week putting it all together.

2026 Enrolments
Do you know someone looking for a great school in 2026? Word of mouth is the best way to let people know about our wonderful school. Please encourage anyone who might be interested to contact the school for a private tour.

REMINDER: Parent/Guardian/Carers Code of Conduct to be signed ASAP
As a DOBCEL school, we are required to have all Parents/Guardians/Carers sign a Code of Conduct as part of the Enrolment Agreement. This Code of Conduct is a guide to the expected conduct and behaviour of all Parents/Guardians/Carers while in all school environments, engaging in school-related activities or representing the school. This document has been written in the context of new enrolments, but is to be utilised for all current enrolments as well.
A copy of this document was sent out electronically through PAM to all Parents/Guardians/Carers. Please take the time to read and acknowledge your acceptance of the terms and conditions listed.
Thank you to those who have already signed their Codes of Conduct. It is an important part of our school's Compliance regulations that this document is read and signed by all Parents/Carers. It would be appreciated if this could be attended to as soon as possible. Please contact the office if you are unable to access the document in PAM. Thank you for your assistance.
