A Prayer for the Season of Creation

Creator God,
we thank you for the beauty of our world.
Bless us with caring hearts to protect all creation.
May we walk gently on the earth,
and share its gifts with everyone.
Amen
The Season of Creation is celebrated by the Catholic Church each year from 1 September to 4 October (the Feast of St Francis of Assisi). It is a time to pray, reflect, and act together to care for God’s creation. During this season, Catholics are invited to see the world as God’s gift, to live more sustainably, and to work for justice so that all people and all of nature can flourish.
A Note from our Principal
Ngata families,
Next week, our Grade 5/6 students will be heading off on camp to Roses Gap. We wish them all the very best as they set out on this exciting experience. School camps are such an important part of learning beyond the classroom. They encourage students to step outside of their comfort zones, try new things and discover strengths they may not have known they had. Camps also build resilience, independence and teamwork skills, while giving students the chance to problem-solve, take on challenges and support one another. Of course, they are also a wonderful opportunity to strengthen friendships and create lifelong memories. We are confident that our students will represent our school with pride and return with many stories to share.
As we move towards the end of term, a reminder that the last day of Term 3 is Friday 19th September, with students finishing at the earlier time of 2.30pm. On this day, we will also celebrate Footy Colours Day, a chance for everyone to dress in the colours of their favourite team and enjoy the fun and excitement of the footy finals season.
Thank you for your ongoing support and we look forward to finishing the term on a high note together.
Kind regards,
Nick Murrell
Principal
Watch out- Magpies are around!

There has been a report of Magpies swooping in the Humphreys Street area.
Please take care when walking or riding a bike to school.
No Breakfast Club Next Week
Please take note that there will be NO breakfast Club next Wednesday, 17th September.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back for breakfast in Term 4!

Community Meetings
Since the beginning of the year we have been learning how to participate in a community meeting in the morning. We say ‘Good Morning’ and we use each other's names and then we ask about how we are feeling and what our goals are for the day.
This week we have been put into small groups with a special leader to kick off the meeting. We show respect to each other and listen in our groups and then we move quietly into our learning spots. Look at us go!!!!

Sharing Stories
We are learning how to share and group items so that the groups are equal and even. It’s only FAIR!!
We have been using a lot of counters and blocks to help us.
Ms Osborne made up some great stories about donuts and cookies, oranges and cherries. We are learning how important it is to have the same as others…especially when we are talking about food.
Today we did some more sharing but we are now learning that it’s also okay to have left overs.

Reading and Writing Words
Each week in our Sounds Write lesson we practice reading and writing words. We all get to have our own little pile of words and each of us has a different set. We turn the card over and say the sounds to read the word. We then read the word to our table buddies and then we turn it over.
We have to remember all the sounds and then write the word on our boards. We then check it with our card and tick it or fix it!!
We love working on our own and get very excited to see what words we get each week.

Footy/Netball Colours Day

2026 Enrolments
Do you know someone looking for a great school in 2026? Word of mouth is the best way to let people know about our wonderful school. Please encourage anyone who might be interested to contact the school for a private tour.

REMINDER: Parent/Guardian/Carers Code of Conduct to be signed ASAP
As a DOBCEL school, we are required to have all Parents/Guardians/Carers sign a Code of Conduct as part of the Enrolment Agreement. This Code of Conduct is a guide to the expected conduct and behaviour of all Parents/Guardians/Carers while in all school environments, engaging in school-related activities or representing the school. This document has been written in the context of new enrolments, but is to be utilised for all current enrolments as well.
A copy of this document was sent out electronically through PAM to all Parents/Guardians/Carers. Please take the time to read and acknowledge your acceptance of the terms and conditions listed.
Thank you to those who have already signed their Codes of Conduct. It is an important part of our school's Compliance regulations that this document is read and signed by all Parents/Carers. It would be appreciated if this could be attended to as soon as possible. Please contact the office if you are unable to access the document in PAM. Thank you for your assistance.
